I give presentations on astronomy and space exploration all over the UK. I also present space workshops for schools across the UK, at both primary and secondary level. They include Space Is Big, Mission To Mars, The Great British Blast-Off, and Build The Space Station. Now we are planning to return to the Moon - a perfect opportunity to excite and inspire students with STEM activities. Contact me for more information. I also run team-building exercises for companies and other organisations.
I make art inspired by science, often using everyday materials: drawing machines from bicycles, long-exposure pinhole cameras from aluminium cans, spherical sculptures from recycled waste, a guided tour of the Solar System by bike. I run workshops with these activities, and give public talks about my work.
Health and Safety advice for science festivals, high-profile stage shows and demonstrations, including reviewing risk assessments. I’ve won repeated commissions for my proactive approach at bridging the gap between what a performer wants to do and legal H&S obligations. My risk assessments and H&S processes are trusted as being thorough by both my firework and science communication colleagues. Previous clients include Cheltenham Festivals and Greg Foot.
Anyone for lively, practical science? Our range of primary and secondary workshops focus on chemistry/materials and physical properties and are directly linked to the national curriculum. In our inspiring sessions pupils discuss, investigate and think scientifically. Early Years to Key Stage 4, anywhere. www.spherescience.co.uk

I am an experienced speaker, teacher and academic. I've developed my own niche in the astrobiology community, bringing together geography; evolutionary biology and planetary science. So, if you are interested in finding out where the aliens are; why some habitable planets will likely never host intelligent life; or would just like to find out about the origin and evolution of life on Earth or elsewhere, I would be very willing to deliver a talk.
Today's schoolchildren are tomorrow's Martian explorers. The first person to walk on Mars is probably already alive & under 18 years old. Are they at your school? In this awe-inspiring talk, packed full of stunning visuals & the latest scientific thinking, astronomy author Colin Stuart takes you on a journey there. Based on his latest books, including The Astronaut Selection Test Book with Tim Peake, you'll hear just what it'll take to achieve the most audacious feat of exploration ever tried.
Want a new way to consolidate the KS2 space curriculum? Why Space Matters to Me looks at all the ways space affects the lives of schoolchildren without them even realising. The talk is packed full of the latest stunning images & videos of the universe and makes the solar system personal. Previous feedback: “Colin engaged the children from the offset with his mind blowing facts & fantastic visuals. He pitched the content perfectly and his workshop inspired us all to become space experts!"
