Science Week

We are looking to run a number of events for Science Week and would like to invite an external speaker in to talk with students. This could be about STEM careers or something specific about their work. We are looking for something inspiring and stimulating to really motivate our students and spark their interest in Science. Can you help?

Guest Speaker/ Volunteers for Workshops

As science co-ordinator in a Primary School, I am hoping to organise an exciting and informative Science Week within our school. We have never taken part in Science Week before therefore I think it will be really exciting and fun for the children. I would be grateful to anyone who can offer any advice on guest speakers or workshops which we could have in or anyone who would be willing to volunteer themselves. The theme has not been released for Science Week yet but I am flexible with topic.

Reading Cafe Sci

Hi, Reading Cafe Sci is monthly event that we host in Reading town centre. The speaker gets 30 - 40 mins for their talk (either freehand with a mic or with a few slides on a projector), then 15 min refreshment break followed by 30 mins Q&A with the audience. We get about 60 people to each event and only 10 % of them are scientists in the audience so it's general public who have a thirst for learning new things and inquisitive mind all subjects welcome. we can pay travel expenses
