Rick Hall

Rick is the founder of Ignite!, the education charity based in Nottingham that aims to introduce more creativity in learning, in schools and with communities. Rick is the architect and champion of Lab_13, a space in schools managed by pupils for their own experiments. Lab_13 is now international, including sites in Ghana and Finland. Rick is a Churchill Fellow, and researched creativity and STEM education in India and S Korea. His A-Z of Creativity has been followed by the A-Z of Curiosity.

Rick is a writer, director, project designer and creative thinker, with many practical skills and experiences. In particular Rick has worked with young people and families, including projects with refugee families and early years children (Curious Tots is aimed at under 3s) As well as practical examples of informal science learning, and science communication, Rick leads workshops on science busking. Rick is especially interested in community engagement through Citizen Science.
