I'd like to attend an event to discuss the OCTAHEDRON project with the public and hear about their thoughts and concerns in an interactive and engaging way. The project aims to develop an early diagnostic tool for neurological disorders such as Parkinson's. To do this, it is using NHS data from 3D eye scans and artificial intelligence to create an algorithm. More information about OCTAHEDRON can be found here: https://www.ncl.ac.uk/press/articles/latest/2020/09/aiforparkinsonsandalzheimers/

I am a storyteller and qualified early years teacher. I developed my interest in science through photography and later by studying the northern lights. Now settled back in the Lake District, I have written a science story book aimed at 5 to 8 year olds. Sylwedyth is a local stone-age girl who questions her tribe's sayings. She becomes a scientist and creates Britain's first stone circle. The book has science explanations for KS1 and a bonus story about inventions set in the court of Louis XIV.
