A new polar research ship, The RRS Sir David Attenborough, is part of a multi-million pound modernisation programme, which is set to transform how the UK both enables and supports frontier science in Antarctica. With a state-of-the art wharf this modernisation programme represents the largest Government investment in polar science infrastructure since the 1980s.
