On disinformation: How to fight for truth and protect democracy

Join Lee McIntyre as he equips us with the tools to combat an era of disinformation. Drawing from his two decades of experience as a scholar dedicated to unravelling the intricacies of science denial, Lee will explore how higher powers can weaponise science and how the channels through which this disinformation spreads can be disrupted. As well as uncovering the history of disinformation, Lee will also provide us with the practical solutions needed to overcome it.

Lee McIntyre is a Research Fellow at the Center for Philosophy and History of Science at Boston University and a recent Lecturer in Ethics at Harvard Extension School. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Michigan. McIntyre’s popular essays have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Nature, Newsweek, Scientific American, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Deseret Magazine, New Statesman, and may others.
