Sound plays an important role in making sense of the environment we are surrounded by in our daily lives. This lecture introduces us to how the human brain understands spatial sound and demonstrates some of the latest 3D audio technologies through your very own headphones. Join us for this immersive and interactive experience within the world of 3D audio.
Speakers
Dr Hyunkook Lee is Reader in Music Technology and the Director of the Centre for Audio and Psychoacoustic Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. His research studies the mechanism of human auditory perception and has significantly advanced the fundamental understanding of the perception of height in 3D audio recording and reproduction. Hyunkook also works within industry as a specialist consultant and is an experienced sound engineer specialising in surround and 3D acoustic recording.
Science
