If you’ve ever had a ‘burning’ desire to find out how a rocket engine works, this is the show for you.
Join Peter as he guides you through the exciting, flammable science and history of rockets. With the help of some large fireballs, incredibly loud explosions, a working jet engine and a 2 metre long rocket car you’ll discover the remarkably simple principles behind the vehicles that may one day take us to Mars and beyond!
Speakers
Erstwhile alternative poet, parachutist and American footballer, Peter has nurtured a lifelong passion for science. His childhood fascination with setting things on fire and propelling them at high speed led him to study maths & physics at Portsmouth Polytechnic in the 1980s. Over the years he has built parts for nuclear submarines, written freelance science articles for publications such as New Scientist and Focus magazine.
