Join the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) for a guided walk along an easy-going city centre discovering trail to explore how engineering has developed the city of Sheffield. Sheffield is a civilised city and this walk shows something of how this has been achieved. You will see buildings and structures, various forms of transport (road, rail, tram and water). You will learn something about essentials like water supply and drainage. Sorry, only assistance dogs are allowed on this walk.

I am a retired chartered Structural and Civil Engineer with a life long interest in history and archaeology, especially at a local level.
I worked for a firm of consulting engineers designing a range of small to medium sized projects, from factory units and offices to housing developments. I would often work on a scheme from site investigation through all types of engineering design.
