Mars - From past to future.

Our Open Evening presentation shows how our understanding of the fourth planet of our sun has evolved, especially since the first use of telescopes. The flood of information and data returned from orbiting spacecraft and landers in recent years has given us a reasonable understanding of the history of Mars so far and of its nature today, but there is plenty of scope for surprises, can we answer the vital question - “has there ever been life on Mars?”

Speakers

Doors open at 7:30 with talks starting at 8:00, unless the room fills up earlier, in which case the talk will start sooner and depending on numbers likely to be repeated. Talks vary in length but generally last approximately 40 minutes and are aimed at those with a general interest in astronomy.
