Near Earth Objects. Protecting our civilisation from the next major impact.

It's just over 4 years since the 20 metre wide asteroid entered the Earth's atmosphere at a speed of 40,000 mph and exploding at a height of about 18 miles above the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. It's known that NEOs will continue to hit the Earth at irregular intervals in the future. In this talk, supported by the NEOShield-2 Project, we discuss the threats, the science and technology for Near Earth Object impact prevention.
